What’s really happening underneath all that moss?
When moss builds up on a roof, it can hide the condition of the shingles underneath. And when that moss is removed, granules can come off with it, leaving the areas that were covered with moss with significantly less granule protection than the surrounding shingles.
This is also why roof cleanings need to be approached carefully. Cleaning can help in some situations, but the condition and age of the roofing system should be considered before deciding how to remove the moss.

What happens underneath a ridge vent before the ridge cap goes on?
In this step of the metal roof installation, the crew is installing wire mesh and fastening it down with staples along the ridge. Ice & Water Shield is also installed in the area where the attic will breathe.
These details may not be visible once the roof is finished, but they’re an important part of properly preparing the ridge before the final cap goes on.
Thinking about upgrading to a metal roof or simply have questions about it? We’re here to answer them all and walk through the process with you.
A roof replacement is more than just putting on new shingles.
Here’s a look at this project while it’s still in progress. The roof has been prepped with synthetic underlayment throughout, along with Ice & Water Shield installed in the valleys for added protection in these critical areas.
With the roof fully prepped, the crew is getting ready for the next step: installing the new shingles.
Each roof installation step is crucial. Questions about your roof? Give us a call!
This low-slope roof was ready for a fresh start.
In this project, our crew is tearing off an existing torch down roofing system and bringing the roof down to the plywood so the deck can be properly inspected and prepared for the new installation.
Low-slope roofing requires careful attention to the existing deck, installation details, and how each layer of the system works together. The finished roof may be what you notice first, but the preparation underneath is an important part of the project.

It’s a great example of how roofing work isn’t always one size fits all. The existing conditions matter, and sometimes the best solution requires a little custom work.
Getting the flashing right is especially important around a skylight, where multiple roof components come together and water needs a clear path away from the opening.
Instead of trying to force a modern kit to work with an older setup, the flashing was custom made to fit perfectly.

Because who doesn’t want to spend their day hanging out with a dog and giving them a fun adventure outside of their kennel?!
As part of our partnership with Kitsap Humane Society, our team had the opportunity to volunteer through their Barks & Rec program, giving shelter dogs some extra time, attention, and adventure.
We’re proud to partner with organizations doing meaningful work in the communities around us, and we’re especially grateful for the opportunity to spend some time with these pups.

What goes underneath metal siding before the panels are installed?
In this video, our PM walks through an important part of the installation process: high-temperature ice & water shield.
Metal panels can absorb and accumulate significant heat, so using a high-temperature membrane beneath the panels provides an additional layer of protection for the surface underneath.
From there, the crew begins laying out and installing the metal panels, bringing the finished exterior one step closer to completion.
The finished product may be what catches your eye, but the preparation underneath is an important part of getting the installation right. Good exterior work starts with the details you don’t always see.

Small details make a big difference in metal work.
On the side of our warehouse, these metal panels have been carefully notched and hemmed backward at 180 degrees to create a standing-seam, non-exposed-fastener panel.
The result is a clean exterior finish without visible fasteners across the face of the panel. It takes precise cuts, careful bends, and the right tools to get the detail just right.
This is a great example of the craftsmanship that goes into the exterior of a building, even in the details you might not notice at first glance.
Follow along as we share more of the work going into our warehouse build.
In this video, our PM walks through several common roofing problems we see on real jobsites, including:
• Massive granule loss with fiberglass showing through
• Missing starter metal, leaving the plywood more exposed to moisture
• Exposed fasteners
• Missing sealant where it’s needed
These might seem like small details individually, but they can tell you a lot about the condition and installation of a roofing system. Once the protective granules are gone and the fiberglass is exposed, the shingles have lost an important part of their protective surface. And when roof edges, fasteners, and penetrations aren’t properly detailed, water has more opportunities to find its way into the system.
The biggest takeaway? Don’t judge a roof only by what it looks like from the ground. Some of the most important warning signs are in the details.
If you’re noticing granule loss, exposed fasteners, deteriorating shingles, or other concerns with your roof, it may be time to have it looked at.
