Costumes, running shoes, families out enjoying the weekend, and a community coming together for a good cause. The Monster Mash 5K brought all of that to Issaquah, and Integrity Roofing & Construction was excited to be part of it.
This past weekend, our team set up a booth and helped sponsor the Monster Mash 5K, organized by the Issaquah Schools Foundation. We had a great time chatting with attendees, meeting new people, and enjoying the energy of an event that brought together families, runners, walkers, and community supporters.
For us, these events are about more than setting up a booth and introducing people to our business. They are opportunities to get out into the communities we serve, have conversations that might not happen on a jobsite, and support organizations working to make a difference locally.
At Integrity, we spend our days helping homeowners protect their properties and the people who live inside them. We also believe that being part of a community means showing up for the people, organizations, and events that make it a great place to live. Spending the weekend with the Issaquah community gave us another chance to do exactly that.
A Halloween Run With a Purpose
The Monster Mash 5K puts a festive spin on a traditional community race. Organized by the Issaquah Schools Foundation, the event welcomes participants of different ages and abilities, whether they want to run for a personal best, enjoy a brisk walk, or simply take part in a fun Halloween-season activity.
The course follows a flat, paved route along the East Lake Sammamish Trail, making it accessible to people with different fitness levels and running experience. Participants are encouraged to get creative with their costumes, adding a little Halloween spirit to the morning.
But the event is about more than costumes and crossing the finish line.
Proceeds from the Monster Mash 5K support programs that benefit students across all 27 schools in the Issaquah School District. That means the excitement of race day connects to a broader effort to give local students access to opportunities that help them learn, grow, and thrive.
It’s a meaningful reason to bring people together.
A community race gives families an opportunity to spend time outdoors, friends a reason to participate together, and local supporters a way to contribute to something that matters. Not everyone has to be a serious runner to be part of it. Simply showing up and participating helps create the atmosphere that makes events like this special.
We appreciate that the Issaquah Schools Foundation creates opportunities for the community to have fun while supporting local students. It’s a combination that makes the Monster Mash 5K worth celebrating.
Meeting the Community Beyond the Jobsite
One of our favorite parts of participating in local events is getting to talk with people in a setting where there is no project schedule, inspection appointment, or construction question that needs an immediate answer.
At the Monster Mash 5K, our booth gave us a place to meet people, introduce them to Integrity Roofing & Construction, and enjoy conversations with people who came out to support the event.
Those interactions matter.
As a roofing and construction company, much of our work starts when a homeowner has a specific need. Maybe a roof is getting older, a leak has appeared, or a family is ready to update its siding or outdoor living space. The conversation often begins with a practical question about the home.
Community events offer a different starting point.
People can stop by, ask a question, learn who we are, or simply say hello while enjoying their day. There is no expectation that every conversation will turn into a project, and that’s part of what makes these opportunities enjoyable.
We want people to know Integrity as more than a company they call when something goes wrong with their roof. We want to be a familiar, approachable local business that takes pride in the places where our customers live and work.
Meeting people outside the usual business setting helps build that connection. It gives us a chance to hear from residents, get to know new faces, and be present in the community.
And honestly, that’s one of the best parts of having a booth at an event like this. You get to be part of the day’s excitement while connecting with people you might not otherwise meet.
Supporting the Organizations That Support Our Community
The Issaquah Schools Foundation plays an important role in supporting students throughout the Issaquah School District. Its work focuses on helping students access opportunities from preschool through graduation, funding programs that go beyond what public education funding alone provides.
That support can reach into different areas of a student’s experience, helping schools and educators create opportunities for students to discover their strengths, develop skills, and pursue their interests.
The Monster Mash 5K is one way the foundation brings the community into that mission. Instead of asking people to support student programs in only one way, it creates an event where families, runners, local businesses, and other supporters can participate together.
We value that kind of community effort.
Strong communities do not happen because of one organization or one group of people. They grow when schools, nonprofits, local businesses, volunteers, and residents contribute in different ways. Some people organize events. Some give their time. Others donate, participate, or help spread the word. Each effort can contribute to something larger.
For Integrity Roofing & Construction, community involvement is an important part of serving the region. We are proud to support local organizations and take part in events that bring people together around a shared purpose.
Our work is centered on protecting homes, but we know that homes are only one part of what makes a community strong. The people who live in them, the schools their children attend, and the organizations working to support local families all play a role in creating a place where people want to put down roots.
That’s why we appreciate opportunities like the Monster Mash 5K. We get to connect with the community while supporting an event that benefits local students.
Proud to Be Part of Issaquah
By the end of the event, what stood out was the opportunity to spend time with the people who make the Issaquah community what it is.
The Monster Mash 5K brought together people with different reasons for participating. Some came to run, some came to walk, and others came to enjoy the Halloween atmosphere and cheer people on. The Issaquah Schools Foundation provided a reason for everyone to come together around something bigger than the race itself.
Our team was glad to be part of it.
We enjoyed having a booth, chatting with attendees, meeting new people, and supporting an event that helps create opportunities for students. These are the kinds of experiences that remind us why community involvement matters. It’s not always about making a big announcement or organizing something ourselves. Sometimes it is simply about showing up, taking part, and supporting the people already doing meaningful work.
We are grateful to the Issaquah Schools Foundation for organizing the event and to everyone who stopped by our booth or helped make the day a success.
Integrity Roofing & Construction will continue looking for opportunities to connect with the communities we serve, support local organizations, and give back beyond our everyday work.
And when it comes to your home, we are here for that, too. If you have questions about your roof, siding, gutters, or another exterior project, our team is happy to talk through what you are seeing and help you understand your options. You can call our team at 360-900-7663 or fill out our online form to get started.
Protecting homes is what we do. Supporting the people and communities around those homes is another part of who we are.
