A roof is made up of much more than the shingles you see from the ground.
In this in-progress project, our PM walks through some of the important components that make up a roofing system, including:
• Synthetic underlayment
• Ice and water protection in the valleys
• Starter strip around the perimeter
• Gable metal
• Starter shingles
Each component serves a purpose, and they all need to work together to create a roofing system that can handle moisture, weather, and everyday exposure.
This is also why a roof replacement is about more than simply choosing a shingle color. The materials and installation details underneath and around the shingles are just as important.
