Proper attic ventilation is about more than just having vents. It’s about making sure the entire system works together.
During this roof replacement, our project manager explains why we’re adding a ridge vent and blocking off the existing gable vents. The goal is to establish a more consistent airflow path, allowing fresh air to enter through the intake vents and warm, moist air to exit through the ridge.
When multiple ventilation openings work against the intended airflow pattern, the system may not perform as designed. That’s why it’s important to consider the placement and interaction of intake and exhaust vents when updating attic ventilation.
There’s more to check in this attic, too. In the next video, we’ll show you how our team checks the ducting for the bathroom exhaust fans and kitchen range.
