Residential SIP Roofing Option

What are SIPs? Structural insulated panels (SIPs) are high-performance building panels used in floors, walls, and roofs for residential and light commercial buildings. The panels are made by sandwiching a core of rigid foam plastic insulation between two structural facings, such as an oriented strand board (OSB).

One of the reasons SIPs are Structurally Superior is that they are up to 2/3 stronger than dimensional lumber. SIPs also have a faster construction time and can be dried in and ready for the siding and roofing faster than traditionally framed homes. SIPs are also energy-efficient and have positive environmental impacts over traditional building methods by reducing heating/cooling costs. You can reduce up to 50 percent of expenses by using smaller heating and cooling units and being able to regulate air quality in your home due to the insulation.
