On this job site, our team found that the bathroom fan was incorrectly vented through an attic exhaust vent. Instead of exhausting outside properly, moisture from the bathroom was making its way back into the attic and contributing to damage inside the home.
The fix? Installing a dedicated vent for the bathroom fan directly above the fan location, while keeping the attic exhaust vent functioning the way it was designed.
